The Stewart County Band Boosters Club is a non-profit, tax exempt organization which supplements and enhances the quality of music education within Stewart County Schools. It is the Mission of The Stewart County Band Boosters, in partnership with the School System, to enhance the Music Program by providing extra needed funding, supplies and instruments. This goal will be achieved through volunteer fundraising activities.
The Stewart County's Music Program is one of Honor. The Program provides excellent musical education, encourages teamwork, individual responsibility and personal achievement, and is highly recognized for it's talent, dedication, achievements and value to our Community. We are proud of the tradition of excellence from this dedicated group of students and wish to assist in making this a rewarding experience. Studies indicate that 58% of college students nationally, drop out prior to graduation; but, if a student has gone through a high school band program, 96% become college graduates.
The primary goal of the SC Band Program is to use music to make better students from those who participate. We are proud of the tradition of excellence from this dedicated group of students and wish to continue to make this a rewarding experience.
SCBB fiscal and financial management is conducted by a board of 5 members; four of whom are elected on an annual basis each April. Funds are deposited through local financial institutions in a FDIC-insured account, and are audited yearly to ensure integrity. While all funds are separately identified and recorded, it is ultimately the Executive Committee who determines an annual expenditure budget.
The Band Boosters purpose is to serve as trustee for memorials and other funds that support specific related activities to enhance the quality of the musical educational experience of all Stewart County students. This may take the form of scholarships, supplemental funding for band equipment, uniforms, transportation, food, awards as well as other funding requirements determined by the Booster Club. Commercial and private donations are accepted for use in the band program. These monies, unless designated for a specific purpose, are distributed according to the financial analysis in place at the time of the donation.
The SCBB Club provides the commitment to the music education community which allows the band students with the vision and desire to pursue and enrich their musical endeavors. The spirit and enthusiasm of each member, coupled with the sacrifices, hard work, leadership ability and the combined resources of the Band Program, Stewart County High School and the surrounding area provides a solid foundation for us to excel. We have reaped the benefits of those that have come before us and the current students add to this legacy. As a Booster Club, our moral obligation is embraced with enthusiasm as we all do what we can and dedicate our efforts for the current generation.
Band parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and anyone in the community can play one of many roles to support our music programs. We are chefs, seamstresses, event planners, and cheerleaders for our kids.
From Elementary through High School we support our kids and celebrate their achievements!
